From our beloved Kenya we found a new home in France. We would love to share with you what we fell in love with about this special place.

About us

The decision to leave Kenya and move to Europe became an 11-year journey that included a handful of years in Sweden and Denmark, and, very briefly, the UK. There were many challenges along the way, but finding this unique place meant the eagle could finally land.

We fell in love with La Cité de Carcassonne and were instantly hooked by the rustic beauty of the surrounding countryside. The deeply verdant Montagne Noir with its caves, rivers, valleys and raw nature. The nearby Mediterrannean sea. And, of course, the wonderful wines and fresh food. There is so much here that reminds us of our old life, and still so much to discover still.

Soon after moving into ‘Les Citronniers’ serendipity played a part in the purchasing of another home 2 doors up with an adjoining garden. We have called this former Maison de Maitre, ‘L’Orangerie’ and we were lucky to have purchased this just before the pandemic, as this property needed renovation we had something to keep us occupied.

The river fronted and walled gardens of both homes are joined in a horse-shoe shape creating the perfect setting for gathering our growing family and friends on special occasions.

A lockable privacy gate between the two means that “Les Citronniers” can be used as a holiday home to this fascinating region. Here guests are offered a taste of Mediterranean living, peace, quiet and privacy.

We are sure you will love this place as much as we do.
